My story begins on Tuesday the thirteenth of June 1978 that was the day my life changed forever. If you have read my first book My Truth you will understand what I am talking about, but for those who have not, then I shall explain. My husband Neville and I had both decided to watch the New Granada series starring Tim Curry and Ian McShane. We had both seen Tim in the Rocky Horror Show so when we read that he was playing in a costume drama; we thought it would be interesting to watch him in a different role as William Shakespeare. So we had our tea and sat down together to watch the programme. Well we were both enjoying it until the second half when it came to the murder of a man called Christopher Marlowe who I never knew existed until that night. At the time of his murder, I suddenly turned to Neville and said: I didnt die, I didnt die like that, those words I could not stop from coming out and I kept repeating those words over and over.

Justified by faith are the three words that capture the ministry and work of Martin Luther (14831546) and Charles Haddon Spurgeon (183492). For Spurgeon, one sentence produced the reformation, and it would be the main theme of his pastoral ministry from 1851 to 1892: But the just shall live by his faith. The Just Shall Live by His Faith compiles a series of Charles Spurgeons sermons on justification by faith, Martin Luther, and the Reformation, and it covers the vital subjects of faith as the life and force in believers who have accepted the saving merits of the Lord Jesus Christ as the means of salvation. For such believers, the goal is to live their lives as they walk with the Spirit, and by dwelling on Spurgeons sermons we can learn that the lesson of the just living by faith will be the one seed that will germinate into the gift of justification, as if you have never sinned; this seed will continue to grow and lead to the Spirit-enabled transformation of human hearts. Spurgeons sermons on justification by faith echo the apostle Pauls most prominent teachings, and this doctrine still rings true today as the test of Christs church. All believers will be inspired by Spurgeons sermons to look to Christ for salvation, live by faith in every part of their lives, and have peace with God.

Focusing on the importance of discussions about sovereignty and of the diversity of Native American communities, Survivance, Sovereignty, and Story offers a variety of ways to teach and write about indigenous North American rhetorics. These essays introduce indigenous rhetorics, framing both how and why they should be taught in US university writing classrooms. Contributors promote understanding of American Indian rhetorical and literary texts and the cultures and contexts within which those texts are produced. Chapters also supply resources for instructors, promote cultural awareness, offer suggestions for further research, and provide examples of methods to incorporate American Indian texts into the classroom curriculum. Survivance, Sovereignty, and Story provides a decolonized vision of what teaching rhetoric and writing can be and offers a foundation to talk about what rhetoric and pedagogical practice can mean when examined through American Indian and indigenous epistemologies and contemporary rhetorics. Contributors include Joyce Rain Anderson, Resa Crane Bizzaro, Qwo-Li Driskill, Janice Gould, Rose Gubele, Angela Haas, Jessica Safran Hoover, Lisa King, Kimberli Lee, Malea D. Powell, Andrea Riley-Mukavetz, Gabriela Raquel RĂos, and Sundy Watanabe.
